Exeter Cricket Club’s Annual General Meeting will take place on 26th November 2026 at the club pavilion, with the bar opening at 6:00pm and the meeting starting at 7:00pm.  All members are actively encouraged to attend. 

There is currently one vacant position following the resignation of David Field as club treasurer.  The committee extend our sincere thanks to David for the countless hours of commitment to the club over the last 10 years. 

Anyone who wishes to be considered for any of the roles below must email secretary@exetercricketclub.com with their proposer and seconder by Thursday 12th November 2026 at the latest.  Nominations after this date will not be considered.

1. Welcome and apologies - Opening of the meeting; confirmation of quorum (20 eligible members).

5. Chairperson’s report - Report on the Club’s activities, achievements and plans.

6. Honorary Secretary’s report - Report on Club administration, membership and governance.

7. Honorary Treasurer’s report - An update on the club's financial position will be disclosed at the meeting though please note that the annual accounts are now prepared by the club's accountants and due to the accounting year concluding on 31 October 2026 these will NOT be ready in time for the AGM. As soon as they are published and filed with Companies House, club members will be informed. 

8. Motions and proposed constitutional amendments - Consideration of properly notified motions or proposed amendments, if any. Constitutional amendments require a two-thirds majority of votes cast.

9. Election of Club officers - Election of President, Chairperson, Honorary Secretary, Honorary Treasurer and Club Safeguarding Officer, as applicable under the Constitution.

10. Election of Club Committee - Election of up to eight ordinary Committee Members; notification of player representatives.

11. Team captains and vice captains - Notification of appointments, where applicable.

12. Membership subscriptions - Report on subscription rates for the forthcoming year.

13. Any other business - Other appropriate business raised at the meeting.

14. Close - Closing remarks.

Information for members

Notice and attendance. This notice must be issued at least 21 clear days before the AGM. All members may attend; Junior Members are not entitled to vote. Eligible members have one vote each, exercised in person.

Nominations. Members wishing to stand for an elected officer or Committee must contact the Honorary Secretary by Thursday 12th November 2026.

Constitutional amendments. Proposals to amend the Constitution must reach the Honorary Secretary at least 14 days before the AGM. Any properly submitted proposal should be circulated to members before the meeting. Approval requires a two-thirds majority of votes cast.

Documents. The previous AGM minutes, annual reports and statements of account will be made available for inspection on reasonable notice. Members may request copies from the Honorary Secretary.
